Guess who decided to rip the bandaid off and finally go all in on her tea brand? 🙋🏽‍♀️

That’s right—me. Another passion project? How original, mon chérie.

Let’s add one more adventure to the pile of work I already have.

Who doesn’t want a little extra chaos in their life?

How exciting.

But here’s the thing: I’m no stranger to failure. In fact, I like to call myself a professional failure. Not in a self-pity way, but in a “been there, fell flat, got back up” kind of way. So even if this tea brand doesn’t go the way I hope—and I’m not saying it won’t!—at least I’ll have more interesting stories to share with you.

Because here’s the truth: I’d rather have you watch me take risks, stumble, and get back up than sell you some perfect solution I don’t believe in myself.

This is month one of building my tea brand in public.

I made the announcement on January 10th, 2025 (see the original post here), and ever since, I’ve been trying to figure out how to share this journey with you. Building a brand, documenting it, sharing it in real-time, AND teaching while I do it? Feels like I’m training for the Olympics. 🥵

But I want to show you that you can do it too—on your own terms.

Why Tea?

I’ve actually been dreaming about this for a while. My Pinterest board has been ready to go for months. I always knew I wanted to create something tied to Chinese tea—not just because of its incredible traditions and benefits, but because of the role it played in my life growing up.

Let me explain.

I’ve always been in awe of TCM—Traditional Chinese Medicine. As someone outside the culture, I’ve spent years learning how to approach it with respect and gratitude for what it’s taught me about balance, health, and life. I’m constantly learning and working to honor its roots without romanticizing or appropriating traditions passed down through generations.

Growing up, my parents were all about herbs. My mom and dad lived that healthy lifestyle before it was trendy. One of my earliest tea memories is drinking my first Chinese tea as a kid—it was a gift my dad received from his business partner. It came in a beautiful tin, and let me tell you, I drank every last drop by myself. (Yes, I kept the tin. No, I don’t know where the box went. 😂)

Below is the tea (what’s left of the tin), I’ve tried searching for them but idk if they rebranded or just closed down. But, I couldn’t find them anywhere on the internet.

In Chinese culture, tea isn’t just a drink; it’s a gesture. My dad once told me that gifting tea is a way to wish someone good health, prosperity, and longevity. It’s not just about words—it’s about intent. Actions, like offering tea, carry a sincerity that words sometimes can’t. It’s a way of saying, “I see you, I care for you, and I wish you the best.”

Words can sound empty, but actions? They show sincerity.

That stuck with me.

It showed me how something as simple as tea could hold so much meaning—a bridge between care, culture, and connection. That’s why this tea brand feels like more than a business—it’s an extension of those lessons my dad taught me: to honor tradition, to act with intention, and to let my work carry meaning.

Tea isn’t just a drink; it’s a story, a symbol of care, and a reminder that small gestures can carry deep meaning. That’s why this feels like more than a business. It feels personal.
